Summary:

Shot while the filmmaker was conducting fieldwork, this documentary chronicles the experiences of three Uighurs living in Kazakhstan, who left China's Xinjiang province in the 1950's and 1960's to make a new home in the USSR. Shows how they became cross-border traders and reestablished ties with their former homeland after the reopening of the Chinese/Kazkhstan border with the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
