Summary:
In 1857, India awakens to the revolutionary prospect of change and self-rule. The friendship of British officer William Gordon and Mangal, an Indian infantryman in the army of the British East India Co., is challenged by a beautiful aristocrat and harsh new laws against Indian troops. Mangal becomes the focus of the Indian mutiny against British rule and takes a leadership role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857.
