Summary:
"A story of a crazed man who imagines himself to be the reincarnation of King Christoph (the first "king" of Haiti, a former slave who headed the world's first ever black republic after the world's only successful slave revolt), it stands as an allegory of the island's own history of heroic glory followed by dismal poverty"--Imdb.com.
Haïti : la fin des chimères?: Shot during the commemorations of the Haitian Bicentennial, this documentary puts into perspective the tragic and burning crisis being lived in Haiti. The current events unfold against a backdrop of Haiti's unique history--the first and only successful slave rebellion establishing the world's first black republic. The opposition movements captured in this documentary beome the catalysts that lead to Aristide's departure.
