Summary:
"Poetry in motion is a series of videos featuring Deaf poets performing their original works of poetry. Poets in this series include Clayton Valli, Patrick Graybill, and Debbie Rennie. The featured poet briefly discusses each poem - why and how it was created, the form and structure of the poem, and hidden meanings and messages. Some of the poets in this series create their poems entirely in ASL. Other poets in the series create their poems in English and then translate them to ASL. Still others offer original translations of well-known and not-so-well-known poems written by other poets. Patrick Graybill creates and develops his poems in ASL. In this DVD he presents several of his original poems and a translation of a poem entitled 'Not Waving, but Drowning.' His original works include 'Liberation,' 'Distant Call,' 'Surprise,' 'Reflection,' 'Paradox' and 'Memories.'"--Back of disc container.
