Paulo Villaça, Luiz [a.k.a. Luis] Linhares, Helena Ignês [a.k.a. Ignêz], Pagano Sobrinho, Roberto Luna. Restored DVD release of a motion picture originally released in 1968. Special features: trailer; two short features; interviews; a feature on the effects of the restoration of the film; a profile of the director; a photo gallery; a manifesto about the film written by the director in 1968 (available in Portuguese or English); "Um cineasta para o novo milênio"; DVD technical information.
Summary:
"A panorama of a delirious society, threatened by a lonely criminal," as described by the director in the English translation of his manifesto about the film. The Red Light Bandit, so called because he uses a red flashlight while robbing, raping and killing, is pursued by the police in an increasingly apocalyptic setting involving political corruption, terrorism and ultimately UFOs. The film is marked by dark humor.
