Summary:
With the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, shopkeeper Lin resorts to underhanded business practices. But when his daughter is threatened by the amorous advances of the chief of police, Lin closes his shop and flees with her, leaving the people who have entrusted their money to his shop's small bank destitute.
