Summary:
A diamond smuggler returns to New York from Cuba, unknowingly bringing small pox with her; a crooked lawyer's scheme to swindle money out of a wealthy old man goes wrong; upon returning from the Korean War, Dr. Tom Owen must choose between a lucrative but unchallenging practice or using his skills to help the poor; as he is about to be deported, Peter jumps ship in New York Harbor and searches for the man who can prove his right to legal entry into the United States.
