Summary:
Embittered Lt. Col. Owen Thursday is stuck with the command of Fort Apache, a remote southwest garrison, despite his excellent war record. He concocts a scheme to make his reputation as an Indian fighter, which Captain York, a bootstrap veteran of many Indian campaigns, knows means disaster.
