Summary:
Paul deserts from the army and returns to his parents' bungalow, where he meets up with his older brother and his Danish girlfriend. Paul does not return to the army, nor does he display any particular interest in his former girlfriend. He finds the Danish girl marginally more interesting. In the end, however, he lets the military police take him back to the barracks.
