Summary:
Refuge explores the delicate bonds that hold an ecosystem and a family together. In spring of 1983, Great Salt Lake began to rise, jeopardizing rich marshes of the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge and its inhabitants. That same spring, Terry Tempest Williams learned that her mother was dying of cancer linked to atomic bomb testing in the Nevada desert in the 1950s.
