Summary:
In the first film of the collaboration between Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski, Don Lope de Aguirre dreams about conquering South America and leads his army on a doomed mission into oblivion. Jonathan Harker embarks on a long journey over the Carpathian Mountains to finalize real estate arrangements with a wealthy nobleman, little realizing that he is about to become involved with a dangerous vampire, Nosferatu. The third film in the collection, Woyzeck, focuses on a soldier battered beyond endurance by abuse from commanding officers, doctors and even his faithless wife. Fitzcarraldo has a mighty dream, to bring Enrico Caruso and Sarah Bernhardt together in a remote town in Peru for one great performance of Grand Opera. To achieve this he will have to overcome almost unsurmountable odds. Cobra Verde was a 19th century Brazilian bandit who is sent on a deadly mission to re-open the slave trade in West Africa. In meeting his mission he goes on to lead an army of women in a war against the local king. My best fiend is a film about the love-hate relationship between Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski, two creative geniuses of the film industry.
