Summary:
Alexander's Ragtime Band and ingenue Stella Kirby are forced to team up when an audition mix-up lands them a job together. Though Stella and band leader Alexander lock horns, they put their differences aside at the urging of Charlie Dwyer, a band member who is romancing Stella. But Charlie's truce backfires when Alexander and Stella fall in love, triggering a nearly 30-year rivalry for her affection.
