A video biography of cellist Pablo Casals, using still photos and archival footage. Includes exceprts from performances by Casals of music by Bach, Schubert, Dvořák, Brahms, and Casals himself, as well as of the Catalan folk song Song of the birds. Also includes interviews with his surviving wife Marta, biographers Robert Baldock and Herb Kirk, and former students and colleagues Bernard Greenhouse, Alexander Schneider, Zara Nelsova, Yehudi Menuhin, and Mieczyslaw Horszowski.
