Charlotte was supposed to be looking after the children--she swears she was. She only took her eyes off them for a moment. But that moment was long enough for Harriet's daughter to disappear. Now Charlotte must tell her that, despite her own three kids being safe and sound, Harriet's beloved only child has gone missing. Harriet, devastated and struggling to keep her marriage afloat after her unbearable loss, can no longer bring herself to speak to Charlotte, much less trust her. But as the police bear down on both women and dark secrets begin to surface, Harriet discovers that confiding in Charlotte again may be the only thing that can reunite her with her daughter.
