Released in the USSR in 1929 as Staroe i novoe (originally titled Generalńai͡a linii͡a) and in the United States in 1930 as Old and new. The general line was the film's original title; after Eisenstein's consultation with Stalin the film was re-assembled and released as The old and new. M. Lapkina, M. Ivanin, V. Buzenkov.
