Published in conjunction with an exhibition held at Sammlung Goetz, Munchen, 4 May - 14 October 2017. Includes bibliographical references.
Summary:
Four legendary artists who have never been exhibited together before are united for the first time in the Goetz Collection: Gotthard Graubner (1930?2013), Imi Knoebel (*1940), Blinky Palermo (1943?1977), and Reiner Ruthenbeck (1937?2016). Each one is connected to the renowned Dusseldorf Akademie, and each has explored, in his own way, within the creative space of abstraction. These artists are distinguished by their pleasure for experimentation with the picture frame, materials, color, and space. The exhibition and accompanying catalogue offer opportunities to focus on individual artworks by the quadrumvirate, as well as to engage in a dialogue that examines both their varying approaches and shared commonalities.00Exhibition: Sammlung Goetz, Munich, Germany (04.05.?14.10.2017).0.
