Summary:
Based on the memoir and letters of Mary Silliman whose husband, a patriot leader, was kidnapped by tories from their Fairfield, Conn., home during the American Revolutionary War, this film depicts the struggles and divisions in this New England town, as well as Mary's personal dilemmas and confrontations in seeking her husband's freedom while still tending to the needs of their family.
