Summary:
"To earn money to buy a new bicycle, Kayla Blaisdale takes a part-time job at a new farm not far from her home in Prairie City, Iowa. Her friend, Jarvis DeMotte, agrees to help. The farm is owned by a quirky inventor named Mr. Nelson, who is experimenting with a new strain of ivy he's created: a cross-breed of several plants, forming a completely nutritious 'super food'. If he's successful, Mr. Nelson and his incredible ivy could quite possibly put an end to world hunger. But something else is hungry. On their very first day of work at the farm, Kayla and Jarvis notice something strange.
