"In this novel the boy Karan was born of a poor family in a traditional set up at the borders of Laikipia, Baringo and Samburu. He was brought up by his parents in a mixed culture making it difficult to understand what tribe he belonged to. The little boy went through many life threatening experiences from attack by wild animals, abductors, police among others. He has survived many difficult life scenarios but ended up being among the few people who succeed in life. Karan was trained by his father and tough life to ever fight his battles since the world is never a fair ground for the boy child. This is how he has managed to seek assistance from no one except his father who always stood with him when things were too tough." --cover page [4].
