Summary:
Honey-- honey-- lion!: After working together to obtain honey, the African honey badger always shares it with his partner, the honeyguide bird, until one day when the honey badger becomes greedy and his feathered friend decides to teach him a lesson. When greedy Badger decides to keep the honeycomb all to himself, instead of sharing it with Honeyguide bird, he is chased through the pond, over an anthill, and through a landscape of many exotic animals where something waits to teach Badger a valuable lesson. Miss Smith's incredible storybook: Zack is sure second grade will be boring, but that is before he meets his most interesting new teacher. Miss Smith has a knack for telling tales, when she reads to the class from her incredible book, the stories seem to literally spring to life. After each tale ends, the fantastic characters slip back into Miss Smith's mysterious book, leaving Zack and his classmates wide-eyed with wonder. Little Grunt and the big egg: Little Grunt has been sent out by his mother to gather eggs for a special Sunday brunch. He returns home with the biggest egg the Grunt Tribe has ever seen. They put the egg by the hearth and go to bed, dreaming of a special meal to share with the Ugga-Wugga Tribe. But that night, the egg breaks in half and the Grunts have a special surprise! The three snow bears: When Allo-ki loses her sled dogs, her search for the leads her to an igloo. She can't resist peeking inside-- and then she can't resist the smell of something delicious. Meanwhile, mama, papa, and baby snow bear are out for a walk, waiting for their breakfasts to cool. This Goldilocks story takes a wonderful twist when an endearing snow bear family and a curious Inuit girl meet face to face in a land where Inuits and the animals share the amazing Arctic landscape. Miss Bridie chose a shovel: In 1956 Miss Bridie chose a shovel to take on her journey to America. She could have chosen other things to take with her on the ship that brought her to her new country, but she chose a shovel. Miss Bridie's shovel remains with her through many years, through good times, and through difficult times. As you follow Miss Bridie's life, you will see the important part the shovel she chose played as she grew older.
