Summary:
Using colour to express internal states, Antonioni tells the story of a suicidal woman living in the industrial wastelands of the Ravenna district searching in vain for meaning, first with her husband and son, and then with a brief affair. Antonioni drew inspiration from Dante's Divina Commedia and Hegel's theories of colour.
