Summary:
In the first part, baritone José Van Dam works with young singers who already possess a voice but do not yet have real stage experience, giving advice on breathing, the diaphragm, the mask, and articulation. In the second part he sketches selected operatic characters, explains his conception of the roles, and goes into details of the vocal lines with three professional singers. Also shows Van Dam preparing the role of Jokanaan in the French version of Salome, with a performance clip.
