As the three fifteen-year-olds, Meri, Sudi, and Dalila, adjust to their new roles as descendants of Egyptian pharoahs charged with protecting the world from evil forces, they must face Apep, a giant serpent from the Netherworld brought to Washington, D.C., by the Cult of Anubis. Three fifteen-year-old girls living in Washington D.C. learn that they are the direct descendants of Egyptian pharoahs, with special powers that will allow them to battle demonic members of the Cult of Anubis, who are trying to return the universe to the chaos from which it sprung.
