Poems ; with some by other authors. Covers made from thin brown cardboard. Front cover has white paper cut-out of a hand-drawn black ink illustration of a voodoo woman with her arms tied behind her back, with some added hand coloring covering parts, which covers a portion of the cover. Behind the head of the illustrated woman is a blue gingham fabric rectangle. Layered atop the illustration is the title drawn inside a cloud-shaped cut out. Near top of front cover is small panel with author's name. Back cover has black ink illustration of a brick wall with a window opening drawn directly onto the cardboard. In the illustrated window opening is a colored paper and fabric landscape scene laid under the cardboard cover. A paper illustration of a male voodoo character is placed atop the window and landscape scene. His striped tights and socks are colored in blue, and the figure holds a candle-lit lantern with a red-colored cloud of smoke extending from it, with text that reads: "Ediciones Vigía." A rectangular cardboard panel lies atop all three layers with text: "Colección del San Juan." Endflaps extend from both front and back cover boards and take the shape of a half-nude male and a female voodoo character on each side respectively. Endpapers on each side include collage illustrations in black ink on white paper with text: "Ediciones Vigía" repeated several times. Colophon on collaged, hand-painted double sheet at back of volume that folds outward. Book issued in case made on back of a unique, heavily illustrated hand-built wood frame box, the back of which is a cardboard pocket that looks like the wall around a balcony. Behind the low wall, a building with a window shows a nude figure looking outward. Drawings hand-colored. Case has a front flap made of vellum with a white and black paper border which can be lifted to reveal an illustrated pop-up cardboard and paper sculpture of a female voodoo character holding bricks, with title and author's name adhered to a small cardboard panel laid atop the character, and with the title in a white paper cloud cut-out shape that pops out near front of wood frame. Vellum cover flap is attached to side with a nail and paper enclosure. Date of publication from colophon. "... consta de doscientos ejemplares ..."--Colophon.
