Summary:
Television was experimental in its earliest days. But by the end of World War II. TV sets started to make their way into America's living rooms. Soon a tricklet became an avalanche. There were music, dramatic and variety shows in the early days, including Westerns and mystery shows. Through news and publich affairs programming, television witnessed the sweeping changes in the country and in some cases influenced the culture.
