This adaptation of The adventures of Tom Sawyer was the first adaptation of a Mark Twain novel to the comic book. It was edited by Oskar Lebeck for Western Printing & Lithographing Company and published under Dell Publishing Company's label. Althought there is no clear information about this, it is believed that the cartoonist was George Kerr and that the adaptation of the novel was written by Gaylord DuBois.
