Pippi Longstocking arrives in a small Swedish town to take up residence in her villa with her companions, Horse and Mr. Nilsson. Annika and Tommy, her new neighbours, are excited about the adventures they are sure to share, but the adults expect that the eccentric little girl will cause no end of trouble.
