Buckminster Fuller predicted this crisis in Critical Path (1981), describing it as an unprecedented crisis universally intended to transform humanity from a competitive dysfunctional state of scarcity to a cooperative world of abundance. Fuller also wrote that humanity is now in final exam to determine if it qualifies for continued existence. The intention of Docking At The Mothership is to help readers pass that exam.
