Summary:
Reporter Charles Wills (Johnson) falls in love and marries the gorgeous Helen Elsworth (Taylor). He supports her with a low paying job, devoting his evenings to writing a novel. After numerous rejections, he gives up writing, quits his job and lives of investments. The marriage falters when he enters into self-destructive behavior that is halted by a devasting tragedy.
