Jacek Chmielnik, Jerzy Stuhr, Katarzyna Figura, Grzegorz Heromínski, Joachim Lamza, Maciej Kozłowski ; supporting roles, Jan Machulski, Leonard Pietraszak, Witold Pyrkosz ; screen debut, Liza Machulska. Based on Juliusz Machulski's novel Szuflandia. Originally produced as a motion picture in 1987. A foreign film (Poland).
Summary:
The film tells the story of two worlds, Drawerland, which is populated with dwarfs, and Kingsize, which is inhabited by average sized people. Drawerland is a scrap-heap of civilization, providing only the bare fundamentals of existence for its exclusively male population, which devotes all of its time to collecting rancid garbage, to scheming covert negotiations, and operating insignificant business. Within this odd society is a privileged ruling class which has access to a miraculous liquid, allowing them to freely move from the homogenous world of Drawerland to the pluralistic society of Kingsize, thus enjoying the most distinctive ingredient it offers - women.
