Translated from inside front cover: This biography of José Luis Montoto de Sedas brings us closer to the unknown figure of the eldest son of Luis Montoto Rautenstrauch, who between the end of the nineteenth century and until the first quarter of the last twentieth century was applauded as a respected Sevillian playwright who, despite unanimous recognition that he obtained in his fifteen years as a playwright, has been forgotten by later generations. In addition to knowing his prolific career in the theater, this book reveals the interesting personality of a writer of liberal thought, influenced by the postulates of the free institution of education, who raised his voice in defense of women's rights, promoted the associationism of journalists and authors, and integrated into the Andalusian movement of the first decades of the 20th century. Includes bibliographical references (pages 311-318).
