Summary: On the occasion of his 70th birthday, the organisers of the Newport Jazz Festival presented a special tribute to one of the great figures of jazz, Louis Armstrong. Dizzy Gillespie, Bobby Hackett, Mahalia Jackson and other musicians joined in a salute to the master and this film features some of the highlights of the occasion. Louis Armstrong himself can be heard singing "Hello Dolly", "Pennies from Heaven", "Blueberry Hill" and "Mack the Knife" and the film also features the Eureka Brass Band.
