Summary:
In L'Hypothese du tableau vole, an erudite art collector guides an unseen interviewer around six paintings by a fictitious 19th century painter, in an attempt to solve the mystery of a missing seventh painting, the disapperance of which has provoked a major scandal. Over the course of the 'investigation' the six paintings are presented as tableaux vivants in which actors add a third dimension, holding poses as they are minutely examined. In La vocation suspendue, an abbot is suspected of being a double agent for different factions in a Catholic religious community.
