Summary:
Working as a funeral director can be an extremely stressful career. Funeral directors face heavy work loads, difficult time demands, tragic deaths and grieving family members. Handling these tasks can be too much for some people which may account for why 50% of funeral directors leave the profession within their first five years. So, what can be done to minimize the effects of stress and prevent funeral directors from burning out? Melanie Carr reveals that the secret may lie in emotional intelligence. Drawing on discoveries she made while working on her Ph.D. in Psychology, Melanie will share her key findings on the relationship between emotional intelligence and occupational stress.
