Summary:
Forced to assimilate into Russian culture in the late nineteenth century, twelve-year-old Audra and her family supress their Lithuanian roots and language, but Audra knows her family is hiding something more. When Cossack soldiers arrest her parents, Audra flees with a package they've given her and joins an underground resistance movement that she hopes will help her eventually rescue them.
