Summary:
In Venice during 1570, the daughter of a powerful nobleman elopes with a proud Moor celebrated as the city's greatest general. A warrior is angered when the general chooses another as his second in command. so he sabotages the promotion and convinces the general that the other officer is cuckolding him. The general writhes under the tortures created and allows his jealousy to lead to a tragic end.
