Compiler: Joannes Skene. With an additional engraved title page. One of the title pages is generally missing. TItle of geneal. table: "The race of the Kings of Scotland, since Malcolme the second, Kenneth the thirds sonne." Privilege: verso of table of contents (3rd prelim. leaf) Includes royal English arms in ornamental band as head-pieces; other ornamental head- and tail- pieces, and initials (some as in Plomer, H.R., English printers' ornaments #166, most initial "I"); printer's device of full royal arms; leaves printed on both sides. The first leaf contains explanatory verses. "The first Parliament of King Iames the Sext" (caption title) has separate foliation and register. "Ane table of the principall maters conteined in this buik" (caption title) begins separate unfoliated register A-D́þ E-F́œ G℗ø H-Śœ T́þ; T4v blank; within this register, "De verborum significatione .. be M. Iohn Skene" has separate dated title page. Many leaves misnumbered. Includes vertical chain lines, watermarks (signature O6 is an example), pointing hands in brown ink in several locations throughout, side-notes. Includes index. Library's copy wants additional engraved t.p. It has been rebound with parts of the original cover adhered to the new cover. Several pages have been repaired. There are markings on several pages.
