Cantata on a secular text for a memorial service honoring Electress Christiane Eberhardine (died September 4 or 5, 1727), wife of August the Strong. Commissioned by Carl von Kirchbach (1704-1753), student at the University of Leipzig. Work completed October 15, 1727, with the performance taking place on October 17 in Leipzig's University Church as part of an academic memorial service. Words by Johann Christoph Gottsched. "Urtext." Duration: approximately 30 min. Foreword in German with English translation. Sections of Bach's St. Mark Passion BWV 247 are based on passages in BWV 198.
