Traces the gaiety of La Belle Epoque, the misery of the "other half," and the development of social, political, intellectual and cultural trends in the early part of the 20th century. Features shots of some of the most famous personages of the era including Renoir, Rodin, Gide, Collette, Caruso, Monet, and others. La vie commence demain: A young provincial (Jean-Pierre Aumont), goes to the meeting of famous men to question them on the view of tomorrow. André Labarthe, Frédéric Joliot-Curie, Jacques Prévert, Pablo Picasso, Jean-Paul Sartre, André Gide, Jean Rostand and Le Corbusier respond in turn, in person.--Container.
