Summary:
Many fragmentary pieces and sketches of organ music by Mendelssohn survive. One such sketch, shelf number MS. M.D.M.b.5, 28, survives in the Bodleian Library at Oxford, and consists of a chorale movement and the beginning of an elaborate variation. Lutz completed the work in 2007-08, and it is published here for the first time.
