"Administering medication to children is a unique challenge requiring specialized knowledge and skills. Each child's age, background, and level of physical and psychosocial development must be considered, and the administration process tailored to meet these particular needs. In addition, children are particularly vulnerable to medication errors. This video will address general considerations for administering pediatric medications and present important guidelines to help prevent medication errors. Techniques for administering intermuscular and subcutaneous injections, as well as oral, rectal, otic, ophthalmic, and nasal medications will be presented, with emphasis on using appropriate strategies for children of different development levels."--Container.
