Summary:
Boys will be boys: "Narkover' School is perhaps more famous for its forgers than its academic prowess. Dr. Alec Smart gets the job as headmaster by enlisting the help of Brown, an ex-pupil with a good record in forgery! In return Dr. Smart is forced to employ Brown so he can prepare to steal a priceless necklace from rich founder, Lady Dorking. Inevitably all does not go according to plan and results in hilarity and confusion!"--Container.
Where there's a Will: "Benjamin Stubbins is a penniless lawyer who has spent most of his money on drink. When he accidentally interrupts a robbery at work, he becomes the target of a gang of thieves who determine that although he is impoverished, his relatives aren't. They follow him to a party where they intend to commit a robbery. It is up to Benjamin, a failure at everything else, to save the day."--Container.
Windbag the sailor: "Ben Cutlet (Will Hay) is a bogus sea Captain who is tricked into taking command of an unseaworth ship, the "Rob Roy". He and two stoaways arrive on an island inhabited by cannibals. The radio they have scares them into freindliness, but for how long? This is the first movie for the loveable trio of Will Hay with Moore Marriott, who go on the make several classic British comedies."--Container.
Good Morning, Boys: "Dr. Twist (WIll Hay) is the Headmaster of a boys' school. There, the pupils spend most of their time gambling, betting, and setting booby traps for their Principal. When a governor arrives to inpsect the school he is applled and demands that Dr. Twist resigns. Defending his educational methods, Dr. Twist is given a chance to prove himself. The pupils must take a public examination. After finding a French newspaper, Dr. Twist shows it to his pupils with the result that they pass the test with honors. They are invited to Paris where they become entangled in even more riotously comic situations!"--Container.
Oh, Mr. Porter!: "One of the funniest British comedies in the music hall tradition of the thirties. Comedian Will Hay stars as Mr Porter, a railway attendant whose boss has been wanting to fire him for 20 years. He has been unable to because Porter is a relative of the Managing Director and is determined to become a station master, somewhere! He is eventually commissioned to a near-decrepit station in Ireland, where he organizes a train for a sinister man to board. To his surprise, the train vanishes. The villagers believe that ghosts are responsible, but Porter may yet prove otherwise, even if by accident!"--Container.
Convict 99: "After losing his job as head of a famous school, Dr Benjamin Twist applies for a job as Governor of the nearby prison. In a case of mistaken identity, he is awarded the job, but on his first day, there is a mutiny and again he is confused for someone else - a prisoner! After his experience, he vows to reform the prison. Cells are to come complete with electric fires and cozy armchairs. When he sets up a business amongst the prisoners, all seems to be going swimmingly, but will the temptation of money lead them astray? A biting comedy."--Container.
