Several performance options are mentioned including all live musicians (6 flutists with 12-16 musicians for additional ensemble) or 1 flute soloist with all other parts pre-recorded or any combination of players and pre-recorded parts. Each flutist plays piccolo, C flute and alto flute. There should be a minimum of 12-16 other musicians, placed in two groups around the performance space and audience playing a principal wind instrument, ocarinas, nose whistles, toys, and partially filled water goblets.
