The U.S Environmental Protection Agency, Region VIII; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; the City of Sioux City, Iowa: and the Iowa State Historic Preservation Office agreed to produce this publication to mitigate the potential effects of the demolition of the former packing plant.
Summary:
This booklet tells the history of the packing plant, which for several decades was one of three national meatpacking plants operating in Sioux City. The building was designed by the nationally prominent architectural firm of Gardner and Lindberg with offices located in Chicago, Illinois.
