Each program contains case studies which characterize an individual region. Jerusalem, Sacred Space Under Seige investigates the conflicts and tensions which result from the variety of religious affiliations in Jerusalem. Istanbul, Fundamental Change explores the gaps between rich and poor, secular and fundamentalist muslim in Istanbul Turkey. Egypt, Population Overload examines the rapid population growth of Egypt and its agriculture, particularly along the Nile River Valley. Oman, Looking Beyond Oil, investigates the oil rich nation of Oman as it seeks to diversify its economic base beyond a dependence upon oil.
