Summary:
Washington crosses the Delaware: December 25th, 1776. After American forces suffered crushing defeats from the British army, General George Washington and Colonels Harrison and Tilghman debate what to do. They decide to launch a surprise attack by crossing the Delaware river in different places. Washington explains how America is fighting a personal battle for liberty. Washington's farewell to his officers: December 4th, 1783. The war is over! A peace treaty has been signed and the British have evacuated. General Washington has arranged a final meeting with his devoted officers including three of his generals, General McDougall, General Knox and General Von Steuben, who have served steadfastly with him through every campaign.
