Summary:
In order to escape Communist Hungary, a family must leave behind their infant daughter. She is then temporarily raised by a peasant Hungarian couple. When the daughter is finally brought to America to be with her family, her relationship with her real family becomes strained. The girl is torn between two mothers and two homelands.
