Death of Socrates. Death of Socrates.
Summary:
The triumph of Alexander the Great: 324 B.C. When his Macedonian troops revolt, Alexander the Great must decide what course of action is necessary. He analyzes and determine if he should crush the rebellion or yield to the mutiny. The death of Socrates: 399 B.C. Hours before he is to be executed for refusing to recognize God, Socrates explains to his friends why he must choose death over life. His friends desperately try to convince him otherwise but he valiantly rationalizes that his search for truth would be invalidated should he opt to pay a fine and admit wrongdoing rather than meet his fate.
