Summary:
Standing up : After a cruel summer camp prank, Howie and Grace end up on a series of adventures. They outwit the authorities who try to find them and create true friendships along the way. Return to Nim's Island : Nim outwits the villainous poachers who have invaded her island home in order to save her beloved friend, Selkie the sea lion. A little game : 10-year-old Maxine is struggling with a lot of adjustments in her life. Then by chance she meets a bristly, elderly chess player, who uses the game to teach her lessons about life. Jack of the red hearts : A foster teen poses as an experienced caregiver for autistic children, tricking a desperate mother into hiring her. She is surprised when she finds herself connecting with her new role.
