Mary Fulkerson, the America dancer, at present directs the research unit of the European Dance Development Centre in Dusseldorf, Germany. Since her arrival in Europe some thirty years ago, she has been widely held responsible for the introduction and development of the influential practice of Release work. In 1977, Theatre Papers - predecessor to ARTS ARCHIVES - published her book Language of the axis containing 40 photographs and 100 pages of line drawings and text. This publication is now out of print. In response to requests to make this work available once more, it is being re-published on CD-ROM.
